This very small bird is constantly hunting through the trees for insects. In the summer, fall and winter bushtits are often found in flocks. Bushtits and Chickadees often travel together.
The way you can tell male and female bushtits apart is by the eyes. Male eyes are all dark, female eyes have a yellow iris and a dark pupil. Bushtits flock together, especially at a suet feeder.
