This trail connects to a multitude of other trails in the
wilderness area. The trail winds through a Douglas-Fir, Western Hemlock mixed forest, crossing three minor streams and winding up some steeper slopes before reaching the junction with Big Meadows Tie Trail #3434 which connects to the Big Meadows Loop Trail #3456. The Duffy Lake Trail then heads east and then turns more north before reaching junction with Turpentine Trail #3490. The Duffy Lake Trail continues past the junction with Turpentine Trail heading south and east to junction with Lava Lakes Trail #3433. Trail continues to final junction with Santiam Lake Trail #3491 and Blue Lake Trail #3422. THIS TRAILHEAD IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED Trailhead directions: From Detroit, Oregon, travel 25.6 miles east on State Highway 22 to Big Meadows Road (Forest Service Road 2267). Turn on Big Meadows Road (Forest Service Road 2267). In 0.9 miles you will reach the junction with Forest Service Road 2257 on the left. Bear right to continue another 2 miles on Forest Service Road 2267 (past the junction with Forest Service Road 2257) to the trailhead. |
